New THE CRYPT interview published by KAAOSZINE on 2nd of May of 2024

Up-and-coming Swedish metal sensation THE CRYPT is featured in a new interview by Finnish magazine KAAOSZINE.

Here's a small excerpt from the interview:

"Question: The story of The Crypt began in 2021. Could you tell us a little bit about where you got the inspiration for the band and how you got the legendary Leif Edling on board? Did the vision for the band come from you and did the idea run for a long time before you finally decided to implement it?

Pepper Potemkin: Actually, the story started earlier. We started recording the album at the end of 2019. It will finally be released on May 25 this year. The original plan was to release an album in 2020, but then the plague hit and we decided to wait a little while before releasing our first single "Into the Crypt" in 2021 to the world's attention. It was Leif's brainstorming session from the beginning, and he chose me as the band's lead singer. Since he has a lot of work with Candlemass, he was never meant to be part of the band, so me and the other members have been working with the band for a couple of years.

Question: I have to say that the album sounds very strong. Did you have a clear musical vision of where you wanted to take the band on their debut album?

Pepper Potemkin: Thank you, yes, I think there are some very strong songs on the album. Leif had a clear vision of what he wanted The Crypt to sound like."

THE CRYPT will release a new digital single on May 10th, and the debut album will come out on the Metal Department label on May 25th.
