Former CANDLEMASS singer Messiah Marcolin jams with ANVIL in Sweden

Saturday October 26th 2024 saw a very welcome return to the stage from former CANDLEMASS vocalist Messiah Marcolin.

Marcolin, along with LION'S SHARE guitarist Lars Chriss, joined seminal Canadian Metal-band ANVIL for the song "Forged In Fire", off the same titled album from 1983.

The impromptu jam happened at an ANVIL gig at the Encore venue in Sundbyberg, Sweden.

In 2002 CANDLEMASS reunited with Messiah for a string of gigs, and they offered up some live-recordings and video releases featuring Messiah in the period from 2002-2006.

Since then it has been very quiet on the Messiah front:

He performed as a guest vocalist with THERION for a string of live performances in 2007, and in 2011 he appeared live with Swedish heavy metal band PORTRAIT, covering the MERCYFUL FATE classic song "Black Funeral". In 2013, he sang on "Hel", a song off AMON AMARTH's 'Deceiver Of The Gods' album.

It's a very welcome sight to watch Messiah's signature "Doom Dance" on stage again!
