Released in 1981 as part of OZZY OSBOURNE's second studio album, 'Diary Of A Madman', the single "Flying High Again" became an instant classic in the world of heavy metal.
Written by Ozzy himself along with guitarist Randy Rhoads, the song showcased their musical brilliance. With its electrifying guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and a thunderous rhythm section, "Flying High Again" captured the essence of Osbourne's signature style. The song's lyrics, inspired by Osbourne's rock 'n' roll lifestyle, resonated with fans and solidified its place in rock history. Today, it remains a timeless anthem, emblematic of Ozzy's enduring influence on the genre.
Released as a single on October 10th, eventually it reached number 2 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart in 1982.
Although it's often assumed that the song is about cannabis consumption, Ozzy has said that the song was inspired by his successful resurgence as a soloist after being fired from Black Sabbath, and later believing his career was over.
An animated music video for the song was officially released on 5 November 2021, celebrating guitarist Randy Rhoads, who was killed in an airplane accident a year later following the singles initial release.
